People go to Twitter, where the hashtag #WhatsApp is trending.

According to Downdetector, a company that tracks app outages in real time, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp crashed for thousands of users around the world late Monday.

Meanwhile, users who couldn't access all of Facebook's apps flocked to Twitter, where they began to broadcast their responses to the "ordeal" within minutes.

Several others responded with amusing rants and GIFs about the incident.The hashtag #WhatsApp has also become a trending topic on Twitter as a result of numerous tweets.

Waseem Hanif captioned a photo of penguins with the logos of various social media networks, "Instagram down, Facebook down, WhatsApp down." “Do you have any idea who's in charge now?”
 Another user posted alongside a still from the popular Bollywood comedy film "Hera Pheri."and wrote: “People coming to Twitter just for confirmation of #WhatsApp down.”
“When you were talking to your crush, but #WhatsApp suddenly went down,” a user captioned an animated photo of a female seated in front of a laptop.
Other interesting posts included references to the Netflix show "Squid Game."
