The young person who was named as the main suspect in the horrifying murder of a soldier at Ashaiman has admitted to the act and identified his accomplices.
The killer had already been taken into custody by the police, who then held a press conference on Friday night. The suspect was apprehended after a one-week investigation that was intelligence-led, according to the press statement. The accused's names have not been made public by the police.
The terse police statement said, "After a week of persistent intelligence-led operation, the Police have apprehended the major suspects implicated in the murder of Imoro Sherrif, the soldier who was found dead at Taifa Ashaiman on March 4, 2023.
