On Monday, a DZIVARESEKWA man was detained on suspicion of raping his 14-year-old housekeeper.
The heavily pregnant wife of Edmore Mutero (31), a military soldier, was left in their bedroom as he went to a nearby funeral.
According to the police, he returned later in the early morning, went to the spare bedroom where the 14-year-old maid was resting, and crept into her blankets before raping her.
Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, the spokeswoman for the Harare Provincial Police, confirmed the arrest and said the girl had been sent to the Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for a checkup.
Insp. Chakanza stated, "Police detained a Dzivaresekwa man in connection with raping his maid.
"On February 27 at around 3 a.m., complainant and the accused's two children were dozing off in a separate bedroom when the accused entered the room,"
